Work permit legislation in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan introduced recent amendments in work permit regulations. New amendments give incentives to foreign businessmen to run and manage their Kazakhstan companies without necessity to obtain a Kazakhstan work permit. This means that a foreign businessman may establish his company in Kazakhstan and appoint himself a chief executive officer without a work permit.
Pursuant to new amendments foreign individuals do not require obtaining a work permit:
- the heads of Kazakhstan legal entities with 100% foreign shareholding, as well as their deputies;
- people occupying positions no lower than the heads of structural units in a national managing holding, with higher education and supporting documents required by legislation; and
- a member of boards of directors of national managing holding.
